Winter solstice is also known as "winter festival" , is one of the twenty-four solar terms in China and one of the eight celestial solar terms, which is opposite to the summer solstice. Of course, there are exceptions. For example, in Tengzhou, Shandong, the custom of drinking mutton soup on the day of the solstice is called number nine, which means to drive away the cold. .
